About Us

Everiss Civil is a family owned and operated company established in 2020 rising from the ashes of John Everiss Contractors Ltd., a company established in 1964 by John and Barbara Everiss. John himself started out as a one man business with Barbara managing the bookwork. The company grew, it was proudly managed by John and Barbara’s children Brent and Keryn as well as Keryn’s husband Bill. John Everiss Contractors recently celebrated 50 successful years in the industry and took pride in being a family business with many of the grandchildren operating within the company, carrying on the strong values of quality and service. Since the sad passing of Brent in 2023 the company has since ceased trading and from this Everiss Civil Ltd has grown and will continue the legacy on.

We specialise in civil site developments, a one stop shop from demolition-clearing to earthworks, then drainage, foundations, blockwork, retaining walls, kerbing & roading,  paths, landscape works fences & topsoiling. We pride ourselves on delivering on programme. We also continue to carry out residential earthworks offering the whole package.

All of this is achieved using a wide range of modern equipment much of which uses the latest GPS guided technology. We have a range of dozers, loaders, compactors, trucks, and excavators. We have a concrete recycling operation to reuse materials to avoid them from going into landfills and also recycle any topsoil or organic materials from sites.

Everiss Civil is dedicated to providing quality workmanship that sets us apart and keeps us in the forefront of the earthmoving industry. We pride ourselves on using dependable equipment as well as recycling materials wherever possible. This includes the breaking down of concrete for re-use on future jobs which in-turn reduces the amount of landfill dumping. Everiss Civil provides one point of contact on your project, managing subtrades to maintain programme throughout the project. We have a strong health & safety focus to ensure requirements are exceeded.

Bill Long

Managing Director

Since joining the family in the early eighties, Bill has become the cornerstone of our family business, bringing more than 25 years of industry experience to the table. Known as the voice of reason, Bill has played a crucial role in transforming our company from a small team into a thriving workforce of around 80 employees. As the key figure in the office, he oversees accounts and manages our team with a fair and approachable demeanour.

In his downtime, Bill enjoys fishing, restoring old cars, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. 

Steve Long

Director

Steve has been involved in the family business since he was young, starting with moving dirt and learning his way around the heavy machinery. His enthusiasm for construction led him to Australia, where he gained essential experience working on civil construction sites and in the mining industry. Upon returning to the family company, Steve and his brother decided to launch their own civil division. 

A true people person, Steve has a natural talent for connecting with others and a genuine love for dirt and machinery. His dedication shines through in every project, from quoting to on-site oversight and subcontractor management — he’s hands-on from start to finish. 

When he’s not working, Steve enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife and two adorable daughters. He’s passionate about low & slow BBQ, loves fishing, and appreciates the great outdoors. 

With his commitment, expertise, and approachable nature, Steve is an invaluable asset to our team. 

Matt Long

Director

Matt is the calm and composed member of our team. Growing up in the family business, he has been immersed in civil construction his entire life. His happy place is in his digger, where he finds true fulfillment working on-site. 

With extensive experience and steady demeanor, Matt is a reliable presence in the company. His dedication and wealth of knowledge contribute significantly to every project he undertakes. 

Outside of work, Matt treasures time with his wife, son, and daughter, enjoying moments of relaxation and cherishing those moments of peace and togetherness. 

Matt’s attention to detail, high standards, and tranquil nature make him an invaluable asset to our team.
